Ohgizmo tech

Now that I've won a contest, I've started entering other contests, hoping my luck is still with me. There's a contest on ohgizmo.com that has quite a few cool tech prizes up for grabs. To enter I just need to make a link to their site on my blog, hence this post. Wish me luck! Oh, and by the way, if I win ohgizmo, the Abacus Smart Watch looks like something I can picture myself wearing.

Our Art Gallery Home

There was a silent auction recently where my wife works. She put bids in for several pieces of artwork. She must have a knack for the auction process since she won all the pieces she bid on.
I've finished mounting the prints on the walls and now our house now looks like an art gallery. The three major pieces are by an artist named Frank de Villeneuve. They're beautiful works of art, but I can't find much information online about the artist however. I'd love to learn a bit more about these prints if I can, so leave a comment if you have any information on them.

Nintendo DS Storage

My daughter and I each have a DS. There are quite a few DS cartridges scattered all over the place as we each play and exchange games. I was looking for a way to store the games so that they don't get lost. They are pretty small cartridges after all! I first tried using the GBA cases, but they were a bit too big to hold the DS ones without rattling the games around everywhere. I got the idea of using empty Tic tac cases from a site I found online. It's such an excellent idea (and free too) that I thought I'd share it here.

The Lost Baby Jesus

Every year at Christmas we put up a Nativity Scene. It's a family tradition that we've had since our daughter was born. I built the Nativity home myself using mostly bits and pieces of wood, moss and part of a wicker basket for a back wall. I rigged up a red light to give it a cool glow when the room is dark. One of the 3 Wise Men has had his hand crazy glued back on years ago when my daughter played with it and dropped him. He's still holding gold with his crazy glue wrist bracelet. We used to use the entire fireplace mantle to recreate a biblical village, but I removed the mantle last year when I installed the laminate flooring throughout the house. That left us with nowhere to set up the village, so now the nativity home sits all alone on a table beside the Christmas tree. I used to hide the baby Jesus figurine each year and bring him out on his birthday, but one year I forgot where I hid him. Took us a couple of days to finally find the hiding spot. I haven't hid him since then. We leave him in his crib nowadays so that there's no chance he gets hidden away and held for ransom. Doing that won't guarantee getting any extra presents on Christmas day! :P

Holiday Season

Christmas is fast approaching. I haven't yet got all my Holiday shopping done. I've got no clue as to what to get my wife this year. She hasn't dropped any clues for me or even come right out and said what she wanted for Christmas.
We got the tree up now, but I'm procrastinating about the outdoor lights. Last week we had a terrible blizzard and there's a severe weather warning for tomorrow so the lights will wait a bit longer to show themselves. I'm not worried as we're still only in the second week of Advent and Christmas is 2 weeks away.

I'm a Contest Winner

I recently won a Contest on a great site called mympxplayer.
The grand prize was a brand new MP4 player that you can see in the pictures below.
If you own an MP3/MP4 player or are considering buying one, then don't hesitate to visit this site. The information contained there is incredible. I learned a great deal from my visits there that I decided to donate as a way to help the site and keep it online. If you visit, drop me a pm there. My user name there is Louie.

I just received the package in the mail today and here are some photos I took of the player.
An awesome little player with a lot of features packed into it!
