The Painted Van

There was an area set aside at the PNE where kids of all ages could grab a can of paint and a brush and go wild on a van. Can't say how many layers of paint are on this van already, but that didn't deter others from adding to it.

Dogfish Woman, Bear Mother

Here's a sculpture that was on public display at Granville Island. It's part of Vancouver Sculpture Biennale 2005-2007 "Open Space". It's a piece by Bill Reid called "Dogfish Woman, Bear Mother". You can learn more about the artist and the piece here: Bill Reid

The Night Ride

I like how this shot turned out. I had set my camera on a ledge while my daughter was riding on this swing ride. Set the timer for 3 seconds, pressed the shutter and voila! I'm using a Fuji E900 9mp camera and can only say great things about it. I highly recommend it if you're in the market for a new digital camera.

Lunchtime fountain break

Everyone has gathered here at lunchtime to take a break and to catch the next upcoming summertime concert under the sun nearby. I cropped this really closely to cut down on the distraction of people wandering around the water.

photos I took - online and in megapixel colour!

I plan to post the odd photo or two about the things in my world and share it here. Hopefully you like what you see, but it's mainly going to be a place where I can express myself when I feel the need to.
